SPECIAL EVENT: Telescope Demonstration (11/15)

There's nothing like a little star-gazing to put your existence into proper perspective. The vast universe has the power to make us all feel like the puny, insignificant beings we are. Rather than rely on your own limited vision, you might peer at the night sky through a telescope. And though some of us already have the things collecting dust in the back of a closet somewhere (or aiming at the apartment building across the street), those looking to purchase a telescope can head over to the Rochester Museum and Science Center (657 East Avenue) on Saturday, November 15, when the local astronomy club gives a demonstration of the many varieties of telescopic instruments. You'll find out how they work and what they cost. The event starts at noon, and is free. Call 271-1880 for more information.
