I suppose you could call it punk/soul, except it'd be hard to pinpoint exactly who's bringing what. Andre Williams - "The Black Godfather," "Mr. Rhythm" - has been rockin' it lowdown and dirty since his time fronting The Don Juans in Detroit in the 1950's. The cat penned "Shake A Tail Feather, " and his salacious side, 1956's "Jail Bait," is only one of the coolest songs ever. At a mere 72 years old, Williams is as raw and raunchy as ever. He's profound. He's profane. And the man can still bait and set a hook. The Hellhounds - along with organ genius Mr. Quintron - are wild and loose and a perfect match for Williams balls-out energy. "Can You Deal With It?" also puts forth the theory that punk isn't necessarily a genre, but merely the kick in the ass a genre needs when it goes soft. You may need one, too.
